COVID-19/CORONAVIRUS UPDATES

Staying Connected At Home

Although we aren't gathering as we do normally for worship, Bible studies,
and small groups, we are still the "household of God", and families stick
together. We want to ensure that we stay connected during this time
Below are some tangible ways that will keep us from being isolated:

Updates: Find updates through emails or on our website.

Encouragement: Check our Facebook & Instagram for encouragement and messages from our Pastors. We’ve also created a Facebook group where we can all connect!

Services: Services are streaming live on Sundays at 9:30am on YouTube & Facebook.

Online Events: Make sure to check our Events Page or Subscribe to Our E-Newsletter to find online event information, such as our Weekly Prayer Meeting

Worship: Listen to our YouTube or Spotify Playlists of Worship Songs we sing on Sundays.

Sermons: Listen to Past Sermons on our Website.

Tithing: You can still financially contribute online. If you are giving to a fund other than general, make sure to change the fund designation.

Reading & Video Media: Engage in Bible studies, readings, or teachings from the following sources:

  • Use RightNow Media, an online library for adults and kids with Bible studies, conferences, short film, children's videos, and much more.
  • Ligonier Ministries is also streaming resources such teaching series and free study guides.
  • Enjoy a Free Mini eBook from David Powlison on Overcoming Anxiety

Small Groups: Connect in Zoom Meetings or Facebook Groups. We’ve also created a GP Facebook group  for the entire church where we can connect.

Youth: Make sure to follow GP Youth on Instagram and join our Facebook Group. Todd will be working on ways to engage through Zoom and Bible Reading Plans on the YouVersion Bible App. Stay tuned for updates through email or social media!

For Our Community: Think through ways that you might connect with your neighbors. Offer to help if they need or simply letting people know that you are praying. If you need wording for an email or a post, here is the message Perry and Janet sent to their neighborhood. Feel free to use it and insert your information.

Office Hours: Most of the staff will be working from home. If you need one of us, please contact us! We are here and available for you!

EMAIL FROM KEITH 3/17:

GP Family,

Obviously, things have been changing rapidly in response to COVID-19.  I even wonder if things will change immediately after I send this email, but regardless, these are the latest decisions based on the latest information we have from our governing officials.
In order to help slow the spread of this virus, we are cancelling all ministry gatherings such as worship services, prayer meetings, Bible studies, youth gatherings, and small groups at least through the end of March.  At that point, we will reevaluate and determine our next steps.
With the CDC's recommendation to not gather in groups of 50 or more people for the next 8 weeks, it may be awhile until we gather in person for worship on Sunday's.  We are currently developing plans and ideas for us to worship "together" through social networking and also encouraging parents to lead their families in worship, for which we will provide resources and guidance.
Yesterday, you may have seen a sign-up to install flooring at the new building.  This will occur as planned, but we will need to cap the volunteers at 10 people for each time slot and distance ourselves from each other as much as possible.  However, we do need at least 8 people per slot to finish in the builder's allotted time frame.
Also, since the 40 Days for Life campaign is outside and usually a small number of people, feel free to sign-up directly at their website (https://www.40daysforlife.com/columbia), if you desire to participate.  Some GP folks will be down there throughout the day, but use your own discretion if you want physically join in.  But please pray regardless of where you are.
I'm sure there's more, but that's all I have at this point.
Under God's Sovereign Hand,
Keith
