My Brother

December 20, 2020 Speaker: Keith Kneeshaw Series: Advent 2020

Passage: Hebrews 2:14–18

When Jesus took on flesh, he became like us. He shared in our humanity, our struggles, our temptations, and even death. He did this because he needed to be one of us to truly save us. Yet, as he walked in our shoes, he experienced what we experience. He was tempted like we are tempted so that "he is able to help those who are being tempted." And on top of all of that, "he is not ashamed to call [us] brothers" (Hebrews 2:11).
Notes:
1) Because he is like us, he understands us.
2) Because he is like us, he is able to help us.
3) Because he is like us, he is able to save us.
