Throughout Proverbs, the father is speaking to his son and warning him of the temptations that will pull at him.  Proverbs 4:20-27 speaks to the steps of vigilance that his son should employ.  Proverbs 5:1-14 fast forwards to the end of a young man's life who didn't heed the counsel of his teachers.  We live in a time where we are bombarded with temptations.  How are we to withstand them and steer clear of paths that will cost us our lives?
