s we continue to study the book of Jonah in our series on the Minor Prophets, Jonah was swallowed by a huge fish after he was thrown overboard in the storm.  Was the fish meant as a rescue or a discipline?  Seeing that God appointed the fish to swallow Jonah and then commanded the fish to vomit him up, we know that this was God's preservation of Jonah's life, even though he refused God's direct command in the prior chapter.
