In Joel 2, he continues the message of lamenting over sin. He calls God's people to "return to the Lord your God." Yet, we will never want to look at our sin unless we understand the heart of God that he is "gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster." The beautiful promise of repentance (which is turning from sin and back to God) is that God loves to restore his people. He loves to heal. Joel 2:18-27 declare the tangible restoration that God brings.
