We have an exciting new ministry opportunity for our children at GP! We will be making blankets for the elderly at Generations Assisted Living in Irmo. We plan to visit them on Sunday, December 21, at 1:30 PM (please note that there will be no Sunday school that day). During our visit, we will sing Christmas carols and distribute the blankets we have made.
*Fleece Donation Information:
We'd love your help! To make one blanket, we need TWO pieces of fleece 1 ½ yards each (for a total of 3 yards). It can be two pieces of different patterns/colors or two pieces of the same pattern/color. (It is easier for us if you have the fleece cut into 2 pieces - 1 ½ yards each instead of a 3 yard piece.) Although "minky" fleece is ultra soft, once it is cut, it sheds terribly. Please do not purchase this kind of fleece. Hobby Lobby usually has fleece on sale every other week and the Walmart on Harbison (NOT the Ballentine Walmart ) has precut fleece rolls of 1 ½ yards of plain colors and patterns in their craft section. Please wash and dry the fleece and leave in the GP Kids BLANKET MISSION PROJECT BASKET at the mission table near the bathrooms. We will be collecting fleece until December 7.
If you would prefer to contribute money to help us purchase the fleece, we would appreciate that as well.
Thank you for your help with this new and exciting GP Kids mission project.
