Covenant of Grace: Abraham

God announced the Covenant of Grace and the promise of a Redeemer in Genesis 3:15.  From that point forward, we see what one author called “God’s one plan of salvation, whereby he effectively redeemed all his elect through the work of Christ.” The progression from Genesis 3 to Revelation 22 is an ever-expanding work of God’s redemptive plan. We see further aspects of the covenant unfolding in God’s interactions with Adam, Noah, and Abraham (Genesis 12:1-3; 15:1-21). With Abraham, God narrows his focus to one man and his family—not at the expense of the world, but as the means through which all families of the earth will be blessed. This truth carries profound significance for us today, as Galatians 3:29 declares, “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise.” Join us on Sunday as we explore how God pledges himself to his people through Abraham.
