The entirety of the Old Testament pointed God's people toward Jesus. As Jesus walked with the two men on the road to Emmaus after his resurrection, "beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself" (Luke 24:27). In Luke 1:67-79, we learn that all of the covenant promises of God become reality in him. God remembered his holy covenant and visited his people.
