Once again, we encounter a familiar pattern among God’s people—rebellion, grumbling, and complaint before a holy God. In Numbers 16, however, the Lord responds in a striking and sobering way to those who rise up against him and against his appointed servant: “And the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up…” (Num. 16:32a).
This Sunday, we’ll consider God’s unwavering stance toward defiance, as well as his ultimate victory over sin, the devil, and all who oppose the God of light and life. Join us as we reflect on both the seriousness of rebellion and the certainty of God’s triumph!
