How much weight do our words carry? Sometimes we feel the need to add qualifiers like “I promise” or “Stick a needle in my eye” just to convince others that we mean what we say. Our words can fluctuate so much in their reliability that even the vows we make as spouses or church members, can lose their weight.
But what if our words reflected the character of our God? If God is faithful to His Word, ought we to be faithful to ours?
Join us this Sunday as we look at Matthew 5:31–37 and hear Jesus’ call for His people to be a faithful people—people whose commitments are trustworthy and whose “yes” means yes and whose “no” means no.
