About Our Speaker:
Dr. Bob Linder has been a frequently honored member of the faculty at Kansas State University since 1965. Western Civilization, History of Christianity, Reformation History, Religion in American History, and the History of Baseball are among the courses he has taught and for which he has received numerous college and university teaching awards. Professor Linder has also been recognized for his scholarship at the university and national levels. The Reformation Era (2008), The Fountain of Public Prosperity: Evangelical Christians in Australian History, 1740-1914 (2017); The Dictionary of Christianity in America (1990), and Civil Religion and the Presidency (1988) are among the twenty books he has authored or edited. His scholarly articles have appeared in, among other publications, Fides et Historia, Journal of Church and State, Southwestern Journal of Theology, Calvin Theological Journal, and Church History. Prior to his academic career, Bob played semi-pro and professional baseball, acquiring a love of the game that endures to this day. He and his wife, Jean Ann, have four grown children and six grandchildren. They attend Grace Baptist Church in Manhattan, Kansas, where he served two terms as Mayor.
