One of the marks of maturity for children as they grow is the ability to think before they speak. They are encouraged to avoid blurting out the first that comes into their minds because we all know that a quick word will often get you in trouble. James points us in a similar direction with James 1:19-21. He calls us to be "quick to listen and slow to speak". Easier said than done. Yet, we need to consider the necessary character that makes listening possible. It's far more than a good tactic for life. It is the work of God in our lives by his word. Join us on Sunday as we explore how the Gospel brings about the righteousness of God in our lives.
