It's sobering to consider things that disgust God, and many passages throughout the Bible describe things that are an abomination to him. Lying, pride, and murder are obvious things on this list. Yet, our "worship" is often described as detestable to God, and that ought to call us to consider our lives. Often in the Scriptures, God rejects "vain worship." In James 1:26-27, we will look at this same topic. If we are only talking about our faith but not putting it into practice, God calls that worthless. True faith in Christ moves us to seek to address the ills of this world without being drawn into the evils of the world. In a sense, this is what it means to be a "doer of the word."
