In this passage, we see two people, Simeon and Anna, who had been waiting to see the Messiah. He would not only fulfill the promises of God, but he would also usher in comfort, redemption, and salvation for God's people. Since waiting is never easy, it might be surprising to think that waiting is the normal state of the Christian life.
