In this passage of Haggai, God offers one more challenge to the people and two incredible promises. The challenge is for his people to look at their hearts (“consider”) as they work on the temple. Then, God promises his blessing now and in the future. As read you read it, you will realize that this portion of Haggai is definitely not as obvious in terms of its meaning. Don’t be discouraged by that since we will see how other parts of Scripture help us to understand our passage.
